MagnaCarta bolsters team with acclaimed writer and communications expert James Wood

Magna Carta is pleased to announce that James Wood has joined the Magna Carta team effective September 1, 2016.
James will be heading up Magna Carta’s work in North America from his base on the West Coast, working closely with our offices in London and the Middle East on business development and servicing existing clients world-wide.
In a career spanning more than twenty years, James has worked for leading brands such as Visa, AON and Agilent Technologies in North America, Europe, the UK, Africa and Asia. Prior to joining Magna Carta, James was Managing Director, Global Markets at the Global Risk Institute, commissioning research programmes into risks related to financial technologies and wholesale and retail banking, insurance and capital markets. James was Head of Communications at Visa for nearly four years, working in emerging markets in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia.
As well as being an award-winning copywriter and journalist who has written for Reuters, The Financial Times, The Daily Telegraph and other titles, James has experience of capital raising, investor relations and analyst relations for start-up and early-stage firms, with a particular focus on new technologies. He holds a BA and MA from Pembroke College, Cambridge, and an MBA with Distinction from the University of Edinburgh. He also won a graduate scholarship to work on composition with Nobel laureate Derek Walcott at Boston University.
